Department of Marathi
1) About:-
Department of Marathi is one of the oldest Departments of the college with the aims of promoting Marathi language and culture and also study of its history. During the period of five decades the department has remained the centre of various literary and research activities. Several notable scholars & critics are attached with the department as faculty, guest lecturers and alumni. Vishwasrao Naik Arts and Baba Naik Science Mahavidyalaya , Shirala was established in 1970 and the department of Marathi was established in 1972.

Eligibility: 12th.
Admission procedure:
Students are admitted on the basis of merit following the rules and regulations of Government of Maharashtra and affiliating university (Shivaji University Kolhapur)

- To develop skills creative writing, translation,applied and creative use of language.
- To develop Literacy Literacy in new generation .
- To meet the linguistic needs of post- globalization new business and audio visual media.
- Compilation,analysis and promotion of Marathi language and its dialects.
